Wendy Petrie and Simon Dallow are the poster people of my childhood. Following and learning about what is going on in the world has been something I have always done and thoroughly enjoyed. My family has extensively travelled, with my Kiwi mum and Australian dad meeting in London. Their tales meant I have always had a keen interest in what is happening both here and internationally. Having a passion for writing and reading only fueled my love for journalism further.
Adelaide was home until I was four, before my family moved to New Zealand. We moved to a lifestyle block half an hour away from Blenheim. Growing up there taught me the importance of connection, but also fuelled my hunger to experience life outside of Marlborough.
I am flexible and able to think on my feet, which has helped when covering breaking news such as the Māori Queen's Crowing and Kiingi's funeral. While teamwork is a strength of mine, I am also happy to work independently and will not stop until the story is done.
At Broadcasting School, I cover the Tourism and Waihoro Board rounds, but I love reporting on anything and everything. Some of my highlights include penguin couples, the Fighting for Fairness petition, and The Wiggles.
