Despite speculation, ChristchurchNZ will not know until next week whether its Supercars bid has been successful.

It will not be confirmed until next week if Ruapuna will host a Supercars round

Christchurch will know next week if the bid for a Supercars around the city has been accepted.

Speculation that the event had been confirmed has been shut down by both ChristchurchNZ and Euromarque Motorsport Park (Ruapuna Raceway).

In a statement, a ChristchurchNZ spokesperson said they would not know until next week if their bid has been successful.

In a Facebook post this morning, Euromarque Motorsport Park said a decision on their Ruapuna site hosting a Supercars event had not been made, but all parties involved were working hard in the background.

On Wednesday, ChristchurchNZ announced they had placed a bid for an event at Ruapuna Raceway in the Supercars Championships. The raceway is operated by the Canterbury Car Club.

The Repco Supercars Championship will return to the North Island's Taupо̄ Motorsport Park this weekend for the Taupо̄ Super 440.
