After the $36 million draw went unwon last night, the prize pool increases again.

Lotto will roll over to $40 million on Saturday after the $36 million draw last night went unwon.

Last night, the queues were long in supermarkets as people checked their tickets for the draw.

Fresh Choice worker Hannah Feck says more people bought tickets than usual.

"We had lots of extra customers lined up, and a lot of people were saying they only buy it (Lotto) when it goes over $30 mill.

"The queues were just insane. We were non-stop from 4pm until 7:30 when Lotto closes, which was hard in a small store."

With the Powerball going even higher for Sunday's draw, some may be hoping they get lucky. However, Head of Corporate Communications Will Hine says the odds of winning do not change when the prize gets higher.

"Even when the jackpot is high, the odds don't actually change.

"The odds of winning on a line still stay the same."

He says that where you buy tickets does not impact your odds either. He says there is a fifty-fifty split between winning, no matter if you buy in-store or online.
