Kia Ora!
My journalism debut was when I was nine years old. ‘Dumdum News’. A satirical approach on current affairs where the newsroom was my living room, and the journalists were my older brother and I. Although the series was far from accurate and balanced, from a young age I was curious. Not only about the world around me, but also the very formula that's involved in creating an impactful story.
At NZBS, I have enjoyed writing for a range of different platforms. Long form, TV and radio news. I’ve discovered human interest stories are my favourite. Having done theatre for over ten years, it’s in my nature to love dramatics. I also have a love for the outdoors, art, and culture. All of which inspire me and the work I produce.
With the rise of digital media, I’m super excited about how much more accessible journalism is becoming and all the creative possibilities that come with it. Confident in my pronunciation of Te Reo Māori, I'm committed to telling the stories of Aotearoa with accuracy, respect, and integrity.
