Going from quad bikes to lime scooters was never something I thought I would get used to, however moving to Christchurch from rural Matamata made that an inevitable change.
Kia Ora, I’m Emerson Diprose, a 2nd year Journalism student. I’ve come to realise recently that my rural upbringing is actually my superpower. Rural means you grow up tough, hard working, well organised, you get stuck in to whatever is thrown in your direction, and you know pretty much everyone in the town. This means I've always been able to talk to all ages and all walks of life with no issues.
My passion for performing arts means that I never shy away from a stage or speaking in front of a crowd. From singing to dancing or acting, the stage has always been a natural fit for me. Combining this with my love for people and learning their stories lead me to the career of Broadcast Journalism.
Pursuing my love for motorsport with my sports round allowed me to continue following what I was already passionate about, as well as adding rounds such as crime and social issues into the roster to keep me on my toes.
More than anything I love connecting with people, and allowing them to feel relaxed to open up and share their stories.
