Kia ora,

My passion for journalism was sparked back in high school during an English assignment on creating a news article on conspiracy theories, a task that unexpectedly opened my eyes to the power of storytelling and the thrill of uncovering hidden angles. That assignment lit the fire, and it hasn’t gone out since.

Since then, my time at broadcasting school has only deepened that passion. I’ve found that I’m most in my element behind the scenes, organising interviews, finding unique angles, and bringing together all the moving parts to create something meaningful. I love the process of shaping stories that might otherwise be overlooked and giving people a platform to be heard.

Outside of journalism, I’m always curious. I love reading and watching films to see how others tell stories. I’m also a passionate baker (even when the recipes don’t go to plan!), and I’ve always had a soft spot for animals. I’ll stop to say hello to every dog I see. I believe in working hard, learning by doing, and bringing warmth and creativity into everything I take on.

Now, with two years of study and practical training behind me, I’m ready to take the next step — turning my love for storytelling into real-world journalism that informs, connects, and makes a difference.
