The men's Phoenix team will host the Western Sydney Wanderers at Apollo Projects Stadium on April 18th.

It was hoped that the team would be playing at Ōtautahi's new Te Kaha Stadium, however it will not be completed in time.

The Nix returned to Ōtautahi in January this year, after an eight-year absence and played out a scoreless draw with the Central Coast Mariners in front of a vocal Canterbury crowd.

To celebrate the announcement, tickets for the match are discounted by 20% for club members. The presale is live now but general public tickets will go on sale at 4pm next Tuesday.

Phoenix general manager David Dome says he can’t wait to return to Christchurch.

“We’ve always had great support in Ōtautahi from the public and from our friends at Mainland Football”.

He says he expects it to be no different in April.

“It will be the men’s final home match of the regular season and a vital fixture as they push for the finals.”

“We would love to play at One New Zealand Stadium if it opens early but we know Cantabrians create a great atmosphere at Apollo Projects Stadium that the players really enjoyed last season."

He says he's looking forward to seeing the Cantabs turn out in Force in April.
