Locals will go head to head with international riders in February next year.

International mountain-biking series Crankworx will descend on Ōtautahi in 100 days’ time for the first stop of the 2026 season.

The World Tour series is returning to Christchurch’s Adventure Park for the second time, with locals and confirmed but yet-to-be-named elite riders set to race on Ōtautahi soil.

A World Cup-level downhill track, a head-to-head pump track, and slopestyle courses were purpose-built for the series in 2024, before the Port Hills fires led to its cancellation.

After significant rebuilding efforts, the park opened the aptly named ‘Redemption’ downhill course for the 2025 series.

This year’s event featured three globally broadcast races, as NZ riders took out the international competition on the world stage.

The Kiwis were strongest in the downhill, with elite riders Jenna Hastings and Lachie Stevens-McNab, both from Rotorua, winning their respective downhill races.

Crankworx will run at the Christchurch Adventure Park from February 19 to 22.
