Christchurch's newest wildlife haven

The first tidal wetland along the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor has opened.

The wetland located on Waitaki Street in Bexley, is the first of 10 wetlands set to open along the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor.

The OARC regeneration project aims to reduce flood risks, improve water quality, and return the red zone to its natural state.
