Residents of Akaroa have their fingers crossed that wild weather stays away while slips are fixed.

A month on from when heavy rains and slips caused the Banks Peninsula to be put into a State of Emergency, 100-meter-long cracks above Lighthouse Road in Akaroa still remain.

Some residents are unable to return home, while affected businesses have not received any timeline on when they can reopen.
