A display of Islamic art works will be exhibited at the Christchurch South Library from the 2nd to the 9th of April.
Canterbury Muslim Community Trust Chairman, Rob Dewhirst wanted the art to bridge a gap between Muslims and the wider community.
The artwork came from the community, which included both original art and family heirlooms.
He said it is an opportunity to reach out and break down misunderstandings of Islam, by showing the art that some Muslim people have in their home.
Dewhirst said they've already had people asking about the artworks, and there will be information sheets at the library.
