Kia Ora,
I'm Victoria Duff, a second-year TV and Screen Student currently specialising in Camera. Since I was young, I've always been intrigued by film and I specifically remember thinking to myself "I want to do that some day". I'm eternally grateful at the fact that this will be my career and I am beyond excited to step into it.
I absolutely adore everything that goes into filmmaking. From the spark of an idea, to the final export, I love the entire process and all the hard work that goes into even the smallest of things. I love being able to work in a team and bounce ideas off each other, and receiving feedback from others. But the thing I love most is Camera.
I love being able to tell stories through camera work, or being able to convey ideas or messages in a creative medium that is not only entertaining, but also appealing to the eyes. I love how you can simply change the narrative or an audiences perspective just through a slight change in angles or lighting. I also love how the options and ideas are unlimited, all creating a slightly different feel to a shot.
During my time at the New Zealand Broadcasting School, I have had experience working in a variety of different roles in content creation from Camera work to Producing. I have completed many projects such as creating advertising and publicity for a client, Outside Broadcasts, Short films, Pilot episodes, Music Videos, News Stories, Documentaries, Kids shows and more. I believe this experience has really boosted my skills and will help me achieve any medium of filmmaking.
I am looking forward to transferring these skills into the industry.
