Kia ora, my name is Safiya and I am hugely passionate about the diversification of the media landscape.
As a women of colour I haven't always felt my voice was well represented in this space and it is because of this, that I was driven towards Journalism.
I want to share stories that matter and vocalise the ideas of people that, like myself, often feel unheard.
Media in New Zealand is changing and I want to be apart of this growth.
I am a hard worker, a diligent team player and someone who will always give everything a go. I hope to be a part of a news organisation that will foster these skills and help me to become the journalist I have always wanted to be.
