Jamie Hooker

Ehara tākau toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini. My strength is not as an individual, but as a collective.

I thrive working in a team to bring creativity and quality storytelling to moving pictures. I have a passion for content creation, as well as a thirst for the intricacies of television and film.

Those that know me, describe me as proactive, hard worker and a forward thinker. I began a videography business at 16yrs old, using my skills to help others. Although a challenge, I learnt to be professional and work with a diverse range of clients.

Personally, I thrive on constant learning. I soak up new skills easily and enjoy delivering quality work with integrity.

I would very much appreciate the opportunity to intern with you and believe I would be a pleasant and diligent addition to your team.

Studio Show: What Now (Vision Switcher)

I had the amazing opportunity to vision switch three live shows for What Now at WhiteBait Media. This was a fantastic experience for me and gave me a taste of what a real live to air show feels like.

Music Video: Outside Kids (Director)

'Outside Kinda Kids' is a song by Sam Heselwood that I directed a music video for. This was a great experience as I got to help out producing and editing which allowed me to diversify my skills.

Short Documentary: Mahi (Co-Creator)

Mahi is a documentary made by myself and Hemi Baker. It is about the pro wrestling scene in Christchurch and gives a behind the scenes look into the people that are keeping the magic alive.

Showreel: Graphics and Visual Effects

Throughout both of my years at Broadcasting School I put my skills to the test, taking every opportunity I could to create graphics and test my VFX knowledge.

Studio Show: MetroNews (Vision Switcher)

This is the result of an idea that I suggested this year for MetroNews, putting a 360 camera in the control room. This edited version shows Myself, the screens, and the final product during a show!

Web Mini-Series: Feelings (Editor)

'Feelings' was a mini web series, created by myself in conjunction with Journalism and Radio students. The series unpacks the music from famous films and their emotions.

Jamie Media Production (Freelance)

This is some of the freelance client work that I did outside of Broadcasting School. Every shoot I did allowed me to expand my skills and learn new things.
