The controversial documentary Vaxxed shows in Christchurch next month, and the venue will be revealed three hours before it starts.
Canterbury Medical Officer Ramon Pink said it has the power to plant anxiety in the heads of parents and caregivers.
He said it is "Propogating entirely unfounded and disproved information about the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine link to autism."
Pink said the science community put these claims to bed a long time ago.
He also said he thinks it is a personal choice for those who see the film, but he will not be one of them.
