Traffic: Parts of city slow

Victoria Stevens
Jessica Swan

Major delays have slowed the city after roadworks and lane reductions on Russley Rd have stalled traffic in parts of the city.

At 7am, the lane drop on Russley Rd was restored after it had been closed for water main repairs yesterday.

Similarly, roadworks on the intersection of Main North Rd have now been opened but turning vehicles have restricted traffic flow.

Throughout the central city, congestion has delayed routes by up to 8 minutes.

New speed limits across Hornby, St Albans, Marshland and Northwest are also being trialled this morning.

Heavy fog is also clouding the roads so keeping headlights on is essential.
