It was a close game against fan favourites, Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse, but the Southern Steel have taken home the ANZ Premiership Title for the second time.
It was the perfect farewell for captain Wendy Frew, who is retiring from the position.
Coach Reinga Bloxham says Frew absolutely got the send off she deserved.
"We hoped we'd be able to get a win... She [Wendy Frew] just said to the girls 'We've got one opportunity to do this so lets everyone put everything out there at the moment' and that's exactly what they did."
The game was played at Fly Palmy Arena, in Palmerston North, and the Steel pulled off a win with a final score of 54-53.
