"The Silent Alps" explores the history of Kea Culling in New Zealand; a historical massacre that is widely unknown to the population
For the most part of the 20th Century, the New Zealand Government funded the killing of Kea, the only alpine parrot in the world. As a result, the bird is now close to extinction. This documentary explores the opposing viewpoints on the topic, hearing opinions from a chairperson from the Arthur's Pass Wildlife Trust and from archival tapes of a Bounty Hunter.
I had the shared pleasure of producing, shooting and editing this with my friend Ryan Stafford.
