Pre-trial date set for big meth importation

The pre-trial date for two men charged with importing $50 million worth of methamphetamine into Christchurch has been set.

31-year-old Michael Cooper and 25-year old Joseph Seal are charged with importing 49 kilograms of the class A drug from Mexico.

They were arrested as part of the Operation Grandeur police and customs investigation.

The pre-trial is set for July 13 and both men have been remanded on bail.
