The precautions include remaining at least two metres away from people, staying at home if sick, getting tested if symptomatic, and leaving a seat between each other when using public transport.
Jacinda Ardern says it is important to follow the guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
"There is no such thing as never."
Ardern, however, is confident New Zealand won't have a second wave of cases as seen in other countries, provided people continue to act appropriately throughout the different levels put in place by the Ministry of Health.
