Mitchell Hunt on 'sloppy' Crusaders performance

Hunt scored a late penalty for the Crusaders, pushing them to a tight 22-20 win over the Reds on Saturday.

The first-five said the half-time talk was focused on how the Crusader's breakdown needed to change in order to have any chance of comeback against the Reds on Saturday.

Hunt says the Crusader's "certainly weren't winning the ball" during the first half play, which in turn made the game slow and sloppy.

The Reds dominated the Crusaders 20 - 7 at half time, in a match which the Crusaders were tipped to win.

Mitchell Hunt scored a penalty kick in the 80th minute, which lead the team to a 22-20 win in an impressive comeback.

Hunt said the team hoped a change of style would help create flow that he admitted was not present in the first half.

He praised Captain Sam Whitelock, and said his calmness on the field and his mentality of being in the present moment helped keep the team under control.

Israel Dagg,  Seta Tamanivalu and Pete Samu were all sent off from the Crusaders with injuries during the game, but Hunt has assured fans nothing appears too serious and more will be known in the coming week.

The Crusaders play against the Blues this Friday on home turf.
