Kiwi skier Craig Murray wins two stages of Open Faces

A Wanaka skier has won two stages at the free ride Open Faces Competition in the European tour.

Wanaka skier Craig Murray has been impressing on the Free ride world tour. 

The-19-year old has won his second stage of the Open Faces Free ride competition in Austria.

The series tours European slopes visiting nine different stops along the way. They are currently up to their 7th leg.

Murray has been competing around Europe since the beginning of December and is one of many young Wanaka locals who have taken their snow sport talent international. 

He is the reigning Free ride world tour junior champion which he won last year among many other achievements. 

Murray said he's looking forward to getting home and competing in the New Zealand winter season. 

"I plan to do competitions at Mount Olympus and the Remarkables along with filming and climbing some slopes in the Southern Alps."

This year Craig finished 1st in both world championships qualifiers in Austria.
