Christchurch residents should prepare for changes to the bin collection timetable due to upcoming public holidays.

Services will not be running on April 7 due to Good Friday celebrations - so people whose bins get emptied on that day of the week should put them out on Saturday April 8.

All bins should be on the kerbside ready to be collected by 6am on Saturday morning.

On Tuesday April 25 - Anzac Day - collection services will not be running. Because of this, bin collection services will be pushed back a day. This means that residents who put their bins out on Tuesdays will put them out on Wednesday, residents who put them out on Wednesday will put them out Thursday, and so on.

In the two weeks between these holidays, services will be running as usual.

Styx, Metro and Parkhouse eco drops will also be closed on Good Friday, but will be open for the rest of the long weekend. The Banks Peninsula transfer stations will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday but will be open on Saturday and Sunday. All transfer stations and eco drops will be closed on Anzac Day.

All services will go back to the normal timetable after the ANZAC week.
