In like gin. Earlybirds snap up tickets

Tickets for the event have sold out, and an additional 150 tickets sold within hours.

Christchurch will host New Zealand's first ever gin festival this weekend.

The first GinDulgence Festival will be held at the Ilam Homestead, showcasing local and international craft gins.

All 600 tickets for the event sold out in less than month with 150 additional tickets selling out in five hours.

A Christchurch-based whisky and gin producer, Michalik said "Gin is a trend at the moment. It's a spirit on the move internationally and locally."

The event will feature entertainment from bands The Mixers and The Mansions as well various food trucks and gin masterclass sessions' from producers such as Hidden World, Curiosty and Strangelove.
