Forwards coach resigned

The crusaders have re-signed their forwards coach for another two years.

Jason Ryan will be staying on with the crusaders for another two years. The forwards coach has been with the Crusaders for three years already and says he is excited to stay with the team until 2021.

“Im excited to re-commit to the Crusaders for the next two seasons, working along world class players.”

Ryan admits he got offered overseas contracts but says the Crusaders is where his heart is. Head coach Scott Robertson explains how Ryan’s bond with the players both on and off the field is why he is so good at what he does.

“He’s tight both on and off the field with the players, they respect him and he gets the best out of them. They’re pretty vulnerable, those front row boys, which is pretty hard to believe and sometimes just need a cuddle,” Robertson laughed.

Ryan got emotional opening up about how his family had sacrificed a lot for him to have his dream job and says if it wasn't for their support, he wouldn't be able to re-sign.

The red and black side will face their South Island rivals this Friday night at AMI Stadium.
