The New Zealand Transport Agency has issued a statement saying urgent repairs need to be conducted on the Ruffe Creek Bridge.
Repairs will be weather dependent but are scheduled to take place throughout the night from the 26th to the 29th of March.
A detour via Inangahua and Reefton will add 45 minutes to the trip.
