COVID 19 Update

Lockdown day 20: Covid-19 cases increased by 20

Director General of Health, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, addressed the country's Covid-19 status at Wednesday's daily conference.

Six cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours, with an additional 14 probable cases.

Official information has not indicated new fatalities, and the reported death of a man in Southland is yet to be linked to the virus.

13 individuals remain hospitalised with two in critical condition.

Today's updates have raised New Zealand's combined total of confirmed and probable cases to 1386, with eight percent of those identified as health workers.

728 have recovered from the virus, a rise of 100 cases from yesterday.
