Cafe and food trucks near Margaret Mahy playground are thriving due to the number of people using the facility.

The popular playground on Manchester St by the Otakaro Avon river is contributing to the success of nearby businesses.

Paul King owner of Coffee & Donuts, which operates from a caravan at the playground, said his business was thriving.

Bucking the Covid trend, this had been his best trading year yet.
