University students struggle to get home as flight prices soar

Students who have moved to a new city to study are feeling the pinch of domestic air fares.

On top of essential living costs and booking flights around unpredictable exam schedules, tight-budgeted students are tossing up their priorities.

It comes after public scrutiny of Air New Zealand’s pricing, with many claiming their regional flights are unaffordable.
