Weather and traffic: A moderate Monday morning

Weather this morning is fine, while traffic throughout the Canterbury region is moderate.

There are light winds around the region, with 11kmh north-easterly winds expected from 2pm.

Today’s high will be 16 degrees, with the sun setting at 5.41pm. 

The main traffic flows are taking a while to wake up this morning. 

To the north, the stretch between Woodend and Belfast is experiencing an increase of 50 percent in traffic compared to normal free flowing traffic, while Kaiapoi to Marshland Rd is experiencing slight delays.

Travel time from Rangiora to the central city is about 40 minutes.

From the south, Rolleston to the city via the Southern motorway, is taking 10 minutes longer than usual with 36 minutes travel time.
