Sunny days ahead for Christchurch

Good news, the sun is looking to come out and the temperatures to rise towards the end of the week.

Metorologist Ravi Kandula is predicting a clear day for the South Island.

The morning cloud in Christchurch is expected to clear and reach a high of 19 degrees.

The next few days are looking clear and sunny,  while Friday could get to a high of 28 degrees.

MetService is also predicting a warm weekend.

Kandula said a front was heading for Fiordland on Friday but that wasn't expected to hit Christchurch before early next week.
