Donald Trump has floated a plan to pay for his controversial border wall with military funding.

President Trump signed off on over $1.3 trillion in spending, which will last until the end of the year, it includes $1.6 billion funding for his wall along the southern border.

In a Tweet yesterday, he said that given the wall is a national security issue, it should be paid for by the military.

The military has already seen a fifty billion dollar budget increase under President Trump, and his 2019 plan aims to add another seven hundred billion over ten years.

The wall is expected to cost $70 billion.

White House Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, has been asked about whether President Trump is still going to get Mexico to pay for the wall, and said the President "still has plans to look at potential ways" to make Mexico pay for the wall.
