Police chase on Fitzgerald ave

Driver of a stolen car runs from police after crashing on Fitzgerald Ave.


Constable Bernard Innes said the driver failed to stop for police on Hills Rd at 10.56pm on Wednesday.

Police used road spikes to stop the car on Fitzgerald Ave. The car crashed and the driver ran from the scene. 

Innes said a 24-year old man was arrested.

He was due to appear in Christchurch District Court on Thursday on six charges including failing to stop, dangerous driving, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of instruments for conversion and driving while disqualified.
