The Red Zone Stories is a free app which enables past residents to share stories and memories of the red zone.

"It's a community archive, it's a way to keep neighbourhoods and communities connected," University of Canterbury Associate Professor Donald Matheson said.

The app has been funded by The National Science Challenge, with support from Regenerate Christchurch.

"It's also got value to the City Council, planners, Land Information New Zealand and those who are responsible for what happens next," Professor Matheson said.

Red Zone Stories is available for people to express their stories and share an account of how they remember their streets.
