Alternative radio station raises more than $10,000 in 24-hour fundraising marathon.

RDU 98.5FM's SUPER FREQ fundraiser ended at 7pm on Saturday.

Local acts and talent such as Acen and Party took half-hour turns to keep music continuously pumping out of Beatbox in the Boxed Quarter for a solid 24 hours to raise funds to keep the station running.

The non-profit organisation has been working since 1976 to keep local acts on the airwaves and with this recent success, it can keep on doing what it does best.

Fundraising hasn't stopped yet, however. You can still donate to RDU as well as bidding on items such as a poster signed by all the acts, who contributed to the marathon efforts on TradeMe until May 29.
