The advocacy group says the Cancer Society's recommended restriction will function to protect the tobacco industry and prolong the smoking epidemic.
In documents released by the group, a marginal decrease in national smoking was highlighted following the Cancer Society's prohibitive approach.
As of 2018, an estimated 512,000 New Zealanders smoked daily.
