The BOOKarama continues to grow in popularity in Northeastern Christchurch  Bishopdale and Burnside Rotary Club

Lovers of books and other media will be in for a treat when the Bookarama event takes place later this month.

The event, organised by the Bishopdale and Burnside Rotary Club, is now in its fourteenth year and continues to grow.

Last year the event raised $40,000 dollars for community projects that the Rotary Club is involved in.

Project Manager, Lindsay Crossen - who is in his ninth year of running the event - says it is the biggest project in Christchurch of this nature.

“We reckon over a three-day sale we’ll sell about 50,000 items,” Crossen says.

Apart from books, CDs, DVDs and records are also on sale at the event.

Maximum prices for items sold is $3 dollars and other items go for $1 or $2 dollars.

The event will be being held at the YMCA Bishopdale from April 26 to 28.
