One person has died and another four people are injured, two seriously, after a three-vehicle crash near Mt Cook.
The crash took place at the intersection of Twizel Rd and Mt Cook Rd just after 3pm Wednesday. A section of State Highway 8 was closed until 10pm.
The injured people are in Timaru Hospital.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
