The Rangiora Show Grounds will host the North Canterbury's Relay For Life this weekend.

Approximately 700 people will walk, run and skip their way around a course overnight to raise money for cancer.

Relay For Life Organiser Kate Shearer said North Canterbury are looking to strengthen their services so every dollar donated is appreciated.

Their goal is to raise somewhere close to $50,000 for cancer.

Shearer said the Cancer Society offer financial, mental and physical resources to help patients and their families.

"A massive service accessed from the North Canterbury region is our driving service. That is a group of volunteers that drive patients into their treatments, so no-one misses their treatment. Which is obviously really important."

Registrations have closed for this event but it's not too late to donate.
