Businesses are optimistic the Christchurch City Council will address their traffic plan concerns.

The city council held a private meeting yesterday and heard feedback on their An Accessible City scheme progress.

Central City Business Association chair, Brendan Chase, said there were some strong viewpoints from attendees, but the council listened.

He said businesses were concerned the slow progress of the scheme had stopped people coming into the city.

Chase said although making big changes was hard, the council could fine tune the plan that was already in place.
