Manawa Campus: Ara Institute of Canterbury staff and students will be able to travel for free on the bus between Manawa and the city campus.  Ara Institute of Canterbury

Because Ara Institute of Canterbury's nursing students are now based at a new campus by the hospital.

The tertiary education institution's nursing, midwifery and medical imaging departments this year moved the new Manawa campus near the hospital.

With that, travelling between Ara's city campus and the new one became an issue for some staff and students.

In a media release, Breeze Robertson, PR and Communications Adviser for Ara, says Ara has struck a deal with Environment Canterbury (ECan) to make bus transport between the two campuses free for staff and students between 9am and 3pm on week days

Staff and students can travel on the Purple Line bus between the campuses. All they have to do is show their Ara student or staff card.

This will make it much easier for the department to continue providing a more practical learning environment at the hospital.
